Strategy, schmategy
The summer of sabotage Seriously CBS? This is the best you can find? Forget even originally having a saboteur twist. These HGs are doing a good enough job of sabotaging themselves without CBS's assistance. Matt, the self-saboteur Matt (that's the guy beat with an ugly stick so he looks like Goonies' Sloth) decides he is going to act paranoid when Rachel puts him up even though he offered to be put up. The self-described "genius" of BB12 tells viewers his strategy to be paranoid is amazing and he knows it is working. Except we at home see Rachel is actually thinking the behavior is suspicious and sneaky. So he goes around telling every HG that he is "soooooo worried," and eventually even tells Rachel and Brendon that. Huh? If you're confused so am I. Did he forget he offered himself up to them to begin with and he doesn't need to act paranoid with them? Even dumber, Brendon decides this is his shining Russell moment (for last season's faithful readers, that's MH2). At a meeting Rachel held to out Matt for playing the house, Brendon exuberantly states: "You got got!" and later adds a few menacing comments about Matt being a Rat. I could tell he was waiting to say that the whole season. That's right BB12. Don't make new BB sound bytes, just recreate previous seasons'. Eventually CBS won't show us new episodes. They'll have a slide show with images from this season with all the audio from other seasons. That sounds nice! Even better, just replay old seasons. Back to the meeting: it did NOTHING. Stupidest.Meeting.Ever. I don't think anything got accomplished from it except Brendon and Rachel looked like even bigger morons. Andrew, the self-saboteur Andrew is sitting pretty. All he has to do is act nice and bide his time and he will be safe. Or, at least, that would be the best route to go if he had any hope of staying. Well no. In the summer of self-sabotage Andrew decides it would be genius (too many cooks in the genius kitchen?) to go around telling everyone he is going after Brendon and Rachel if he stays. Except it is so obvious he is not. Secret conversation between Brendon and Andrew: B: We need you to stay. A: I need to distance myself from you guys but we are on the same team. I am going to tell the house I am coming after you. Don't tell Rachel. I don't want her letting it slip. B: OK. That's good and all and actually a good idea, except in the BB house it is obvious if you don't like someone without shoving it manually down everyone's throats. If you want to disassociate yourself from B/R just stay away from them and maybe make a whispered comment or two about how you are watching out for them because of something they said or did. You do not need to carry your soapbox from room to room screaming about it. Seriously. But even worse, Brendon listens to Andrew and doesn't tell Rachel. Big mistake. Huge. So now, Brendon is telling Rachel he needs to keep Andrew and she thinks he is crazy since she knows he is running around telling HGs he is gunning for them. To add dumbest to dumber, at the veto meeting, Andrew made some odd speech about how Rachel put up Matt last week and Matt kept B/R safe this week. He then said *again* he was going after B/R and hopefully that will keep him safe. Huh? The icing on the cake, the cherry on the sundae, the gravy: After that POV speech, Brendon decides it is the opportune time to campaign to keep Andrew. Let me get this straight. You're campaigning for someone to stay that announced he is coming for you? At this point the voices of reason, Ragan and Britney (yes, I am actually starting to like the girl) try to get B to see how stupid it would be to keep Andrew. This is a downfall of many smart people. You assume everyone around you is stupid. He had no explanation for any of his reasoning behind wanting to keep Andrew. NONE. Nothing. Nada. Hey rocket scientist- next time think through questions that may come up regarding why you would want Andrew to stay. I am pulling out my hair. CBS really made a huge mistake with this cast. My brain is officially wrinkled. Can we get a do-over? P.S. What is up with Brendon's hair? Did Rachel cut it with a weed whacker? It's a hot mess.
